Students’ Knowledge

Because we see each student as a unique being and created by God, we put a lot of effort into personal guidance in the school. We employ a team approach to the formation and education of students. While our teachers act as leading educators, their knowledge and follow-up in all areas is shared by the entire team.

We also believe that each student has their time. Not all children develop the same way. Some find mathematics easier, others, Portuguese. Teachers are prepared to diagnose each student’s level and work in a personalized way. We have developed a curriculum with three levels of education in the same classroom that adapts to each student’s level. Every year, in the first month of school, an assessment is made and individual goals are drawn for each student. Each child has a personal formation project for developing the intellectual, human, social and spiritual areas.

The deep knowledge of our students goes far beyond the classroom. We monitor the students on the breaks between classes, in the tests, in the sport activities. The entire team is attentive to every detail so that we can identify any behaviors that need help. From this personal knowledge, we can leverage talents and abilities by promoting the development of intelligence, the proper use of freedom and a solid formation of will.

The teacher plays one of the most important roles in education, but we understand that the student is a student of the whole institution. Therefore, all meetings about the students are never conducted with the teacher alone. Whether it is the director, the coordinator, the dean of discipline, or psychologist, we will always have a multidisciplinary look. We know that students are not confined to be only a number in a list: each one has a first name, last name, future and own qualities.

Psychopedagogical Support

We know that each student come from a different background. With a panorama from every angle, watching each one's capabilities, we can leverage their abilities, help them overcome barriers, and guide them to life. Only by knowing the student can we really accompany him in the adventure of his formation, so that by constantly motivating him, he can achieve true happiness. We have a qualified board of psychopedagogues, who help the team in the knowledge and the accompaniment of the students. In addition, whenever necessary, we accompany the child together with other professionals in order to help them overcome difficulties and reach their potential.

Coaching and Tutoring

Learning about each of the students, their dreams and goals so that we can, little by little, help them find their path and reach the full potential.

Based on recent research and the eternal Christian belief that parents are the first educators of their children, Everest education is a collaborative effort between school and family.

We strive to provide an environment that reinforces and complements the role of the family and the parents’ responsibilities to their children.

We know that effective communication is paramount, and teachers and staff work together with parents to help students develop the unique gifts that God has given to each of them.

Family Involvement

"Research shows the positive effects of parents' involvement with their children, families and school when schools and parents continually support and encourage children's learning and development."

(Eccles & Harold, 1993, Illinois State Board of Education, 1993

The higher chances of success of a student in school are not related to income or social status, but to what extent their family

  • creates a family environment that encourages learning;
  • expresses high (but not unrealistic) expectations for the achievement of children and their future career;
  • Engages in school and community education.

All academic research in this regard confirm the importance of parental involvement in education. More than attending meetings with teachers, participating in the education of children is to be present, to be interested. The involvement of family members in education helps them know their children better and enables them to praise them. Praising makes children feel valued and recognized, makes them feel that their education is important for adults. As children tend to reproduce their parents' behavior and see that they care about education, they also tend to value it.

Parental involvement helps children understand that their education is a shared responsibility. It is a collaborative approach among students, teachers and family. This team approach can further motivate them to work hard and have positive results. Children who rely on their parents' help are more likely to feel competent, develop better self-esteem and confidence. This help can encourage them to interact better with their peers and improve their social skills

Although it is important to stay informed and involved in school activities, there are many things you can do at home, whenever it is possible, that can help your child have a better performance at school.

  • Have high, but achievable, expectations of your child.
  • Talk regularly about the school and the value of learning. Tell stories about your school years.
  • Encourage positive attitudes and respect for school, friends and teachers.
  • Read and listen to your child read aloud.
  • Talk and ask about what they are learning, about what they like and do not like.

Other actions that should also have a positive impact

  • Inform and talk to school staff whenever you notice your child is behaving differently
  • Inform and seek help from the school whenever you need to deal with a more difficult subject. (death, relationship problems, illness, drugs, etc.) Whatever the subject, we have professionals who can help your family overcome the challenge.

We know that parents have huge responsibility and, therefore, we provide them with a range of support activities and help them in the task of educating - formative lectures, personal guidance, everything within our power. We will always be willing to and happy to participate.

The involvement of parents in education is fundamental. However, we know that not all families are able to give the same amount of attention to education. There are different realities and situations that prevent them from participating more effectively. Even in the best families, there could be times when participation is a problem. Do not feel bad about it. If those are the circumstances, come and talk to us, explain the situation. We will do everything possible to meet your child's need, assist them in this phase and give them full attention. We will always be here to collaborate and share with the parents the wonderful task of educating the future of our country.
